Job Description
DIGITAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER REQUIRED. Freelance Contract Role of Digital and Social Media Officer for BID Clifton Village.
INVITATION TO TENDER Tenders are invited from persons, who can demonstrate their suitability to supply the services required to implement this demanding but very exciting role.

The contract is initially for a period of 12 months with a 3-month probationary period. This may be extended, subject to a performance review by Board Members.
The expectations within this role are duties and responsibilities that can be delivered within 5 to 10 hours per week. It is expected several hours a week will be engaging with stakeholders and visiting BID members within Clifton Village.

DEADLINE Tenders must be received by noon 13th November 2023. The tenders will be discussed at our November Board Meeting and further communication regarding interviews will be sent shortly after.
BACKGROUND
BID Clifton Village is a collective of business owners (levy payers) within the Clifton Bid boundaries. The role is to encourage levy payers to collaborate and improve Clifton Village for businesses, residents and most importantly visitors. BID Clifton Village is one of the smallest BIDS in the country and is lucky to have many attractions such as The Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Clifton is fortunate to have many independent businesses offering a unique shopping experience for residents and tourists alike.
BID Clifton Village was voted in last year, its 3rd term. The 2022-2027 business-led plan is set to deliver investments in services, projects, and initiatives, which will boost the town and support the levy-paying businesses, over the next five years. Reporting to the Chairman and Board members.
Job Function: To design and deliver the digital and social media strategy for Clifton BID and raise the profile of both Clifton BID businesses and BID organised or sponsored activities.
To take the lead on digital, web and social media activity. Working with the direction and guidance from the Clifton BID manager and Clifton BID Board.
To increase the number of followers and engagement across all social media channels and the number of visitors to the Discover Clifton website.
RESPONSIBILITIES To act as an ambassador for Clifton Village.
To design and deliver a new digital and social media strategy, outlining the approach and suggesting key targets that will be evaluated (within the first six weeks) – to be submitted to the Clifton BID board for review.
To ensure engagement with and be active in promoting Clifton BID businesses and appropriate organisations via social media
To promote BID Clifton sponsored and organised events to encourage attendance and participation
To attend events to take photographs/videos and other relevant content
To be the gatekeeper of the look and feel / branding of Clifton’s BID’s social media channels (including Instagram / Facebook etc)
To explore new digital channels for promotion – including partner organisations e.g. visitbristol.co.uk
To regularly update the Discover Clifton website – with news and updates
To ensure a defined number of social media posts per week – including business / event promotion, along with other engaging content
To provide a monthly social media evaluation report for the BID Clifton board and attend relevant meetings
To draft an annual digital media report, as part of the Newsletter, to update rate payers on social media / digital outputs and evaluation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
Ability to work with minimum supervision under the leadership of the Clifton Bid Manager.
Ability to work with a host of stakeholders – including businesses
Experience in marketing with a track record of running digital campaigns and projects.
A creative thinker able to develop how the BIDs digital and social presence and brand recognition can be further developed
Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
Excellent digital copywriting skills.
Up-to-date knowledge of social media and its existing trends including how it can be used to build the project’s profile
Ability to take high-quality photographs and video content Content management experience and use of relevant systems e.g.
Adobe Creative Suite for creative work including Photoshop for Photo editing, Illustrator for Graphic design and Premiere Pro for Video Editing
Experience in developing and running websites
Ability to work on own initiative, with communication of activities back to line manager.
Ability to always work with professionalism and integrity.
Flexible working with occasional out-of-hours work is required.
Desirable Knowledge of Clifton and Business Improvement Districts Presentation skills
Personal characteristics: Team Player, resilience, and adaptability. Ethically focused: The BID digital and social media officer needs to always demonstrate the highest professional standards. This person will be invited to attend relevant events representing BID. Flexible, innovative and able to respond positively to changing circumstances whilst delivering agreed plans Able to work evenings and weekends on occasions
Remuneration The value of this freelance contract is £400 per month.
